About the event
The Order of Canada is one of the country’s highest civilian honours. Established in 1967, it recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to Canada, whether in their communities, across the nation, or around the world. Appointees are celebrated for a lifetime of achievement, service, and impact in fields such as the arts, education, science, public service, business, social justice, health, and community leadership.
To be appointed to the Order of Canada is to be recognized not only for professional excellence, but for sustained commitment to improving the lives of others. It honours courage, innovation, generosity, and the quiet, consistent work of building a better Canada.
